What is this?
In the wake of the 2016 election, mosques and other religious organizations across America have begun receiving anonymous hate mail and have been subjected to vandalism. This website was created to make it easy for all of us to combat this hate mail with love notes.
On this site, you will find a list of mosques that have received hate mail (as well as other religious institutions that have been subjected to xenophobia), along with their mailing addresses. The goal is simple: Send a note or a postcard to these organizations to show their members that they are loved and appreciated.
If you’d rather participate in this project electronically, you can type a message here, and I’ll be happy to drop a postcard in the mail on your behalf.
**EDIT** I have contacted each organization listed here to notify them of the project, and to ask whether they would like to have their information shared. If organizations ask to be removed from this site, I will do so immediately. I do not wish to contribute to any further harm to our Muslim neighbors, and if the communities affected do not wish to participate, or feel as though this project is further exposing an already vulnerable community, I will make any necessary changes (or take this website down completely).
Who am I?
I’m Connie. I’m troubled by the xenophobia, islamophobia, and racism that I’m seeing in America these days, and this is my small effort to do something about it. You can find out more about me here.
